We love our friends… they make us laugh, they support us when we struggle… but sometimes, they hold us back. Here’s why the people you choose to spend time with mean a lot for your future success.
I don’t talk about this in the video above, but I often find that most people have a strange attitude towards the success of their other friends… they want them to be successful, just as long as they are less successful than they are.
This leads to strange advice like:
- “It’s risky to follow your dreams” (unsaid: because I don’t have the courage to follow mine)
- “You should do this for a few more years” (unsaid: because it’s the safe route and I don’t like taking risks)
- “That’s not possible” (unsaid: because if it was possible it would mean I would have to take action and do it myself, and I’m scared to)
The point of the video is this: we can choose to surround ourselves with people who encourage us to expand or by those who encourage us to contract.
So choose your friends wisely…
